Women's Bible Study
Hi everyone!

After all the changes and uncertainty of the past few months, we are excited to announce the start of fall women’s Bible studies at Westney! What better time to gather, connect, pray together, dig into God’s word, and be reminded of His faithfulness!  We have several great options available, some will be in-person (following Covid guidelines) and some online via Zoom.  Please take a look at the details below and contact the appropriate person with any questions you may have.

  1. Introduction to the New Testament:  A year long (possibly 2 year) study of the background, purpose and themes of each book in the New Testament.  The primary textbook is the ESV study Bible.  This study picks up where the “Survey of the Old Testament”, and “Between the Testaments” studies ended, but newcomers are welcome, and this is a great time to join.  Meeting Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm, starting Tuesday, October 6.  Location TBA.  Contact Bonnie (Bonnie@westney.ca) for further details and supplemental resources.

  1. Philippians – From Beginning to End:  Join us as we walk through the book of Philippians verse by verse, exploring its themes and delving into the language and theology of the apostle Paul. Each week we will grow in our knowledge of God and be encouraged to mature in our faith as we explore the Word of God together.  This is an 8 week study, meeting on Tuesdays at 10 am via Zoom.  Start date is Tuesday, October 6.  Contact Nicole (Nicole@westney.ca) for more information.

  1. Finding God Faithful - Study of the life of Joseph:  This is an 8 week study, with video sessions and a workbook by Kelly Minter. We will trace the path of Joseph’s life in the book of Genesis to observe how God’s sovereignty reigns, even in our darkest moments.  We will explore the themes of waiting, trust, resting in God’s sufficiency, and knowing that His presence and purposes are constant. Find out more about the study here.   The start date is Tuesday, October 6, you can choose from morning or evening, Zoom or in-person.  Workbooks will be available for purchase on the first day or we will arrange to get them to you.  For more details, contact Wendy@westney.ca , Meredith@westney.ca or Elisa@westney.ca .

NOTE: We regret that we are unable to offer our Tuesday morning child care program at this time.  We know how important that is for young moms, and it’s disappointing to have to let you know that.  We promise to prayerfully re-evaluate for January and let you know if anything changes! In the meantime, may we suggest:

  • Choose an evening option when your little ones are in bed or your spouse is available to watch them
  • Consider a babysitter, someone in your social circle, who might be able to help out
  • Join the morning zoom group if you’re able to set your children up with an activity during that time
  • *Watch a recording of the zoom call when it’s convenient for you (we will only record a meeting with the permission of everyone in the group)
