Everything's Changing and Yet...
January 2, 2016

The New Year is here, we have walked through time and said goodbye to 2015 and hello to 2016.

The past year has seen change, some for the good and some not so good.  We have said goodbye to loved ones, hello to new friends and moved forward slowly with our dreams and goals.  There have been cold winds that took our breath away, and warm breezes that have refreshed the soul.

We have been on a merry-go-round of change.  Dreams have come true, dreams have shattered. Hope has withered, and joy has evaded.

Change, so many changes and yet, there is one constant in the midst of the change.  The constant never changes, and remains the same.  It is in this that we can hold on to and cling to.  It is this that we can put all of our hopes and dreams on.  It is this constant that we can surrender to.

The Constant is Jesus.  He alone remains the same.  Unchanging, never failing.  Faithful and a dear friend.  In Him, we can rest.  In Him we can find our stronghold.  In Him we can face the New Year without fear and trepidation.  He alone is our Rock and Fortress.

Press onward, the New Year is here.  Breathe in the crisp air of newness.  Walk forward into the unknown, trusting the One who created space, time and future.  We have nothing to fear.  Jesus goes before us and prepares the way.  He will make sure that our foot doesn’t slip.  He has promised a hope and a future that will not bring us harm.  Praise Him as you move through the new chapter of your life.  2016 is born…but the King that was born in a Manger is the same King who will keep you through every second, minute, hour and day of 2016.  Leap forward and don’t be afraid.  Fresh life awaits, and He is a faithful friend and guide.

2016 Blessing:

The Lord bless you and keep you;  The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;  The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”  Numbers 6:24-26 (NKJV)
