A relationship with Jesus is not a one-time decision. It is a lifelong journey of growing closer to Him every day. At Westney Heights, we are passionate about walking with people through every season of that journey.
Westney Heights is a place where you are welcomed as you are, without pretense or pressure. Our community is made up of real people from all walks of life.

Our Vision Statement is: Encouraging all people to pursue a lifelong, joyous relationship with Jesus Christ. Explore our core pillars at Westney Heights Baptist Church.

Authentic Worship is our Christ-centred response to all of who God is. It draws us into his presence. We worship authentically when we know God and communicate our adoration of Him through our words, song, music, and prayer. We worship authentically when we demonstrate acts of love, kindness and generosity. Hebrews 13:15-16, John 4:23-24, Matthew 15:8-9, Romans 12:1

Central to Westney is the preaching and teaching of the Bible so that we can learn the truth about God. By the Holy Spirit, the Bible has the power to change lives making us humble and obedient to His will and his Word. Through biblical teaching, we can be equipped to interact with those who are skeptical of Christianity by thoughtfully and graciously defending the truth of Jesus Christ and the Bible. Acts 2: 42-46, Romans 1:16, I Peter 3:15, II Timothy 2:24-25, II Timothy 4:1-22

All people bear the image of God. They have value, not because they are redeemed, but because they are God’s creation in God’s image. God builds communities of faith by uniting all people he saves and motivates them to love each other as neighbours and share the good news of the gospel. In a world that can be isolating and fragmented, this makes our church a breath of fresh air – there’s a place for you at Westney . John 13:33-35

At Westney, we are a church that seeks to understand the needs of others and to reach out with generosity demonstrated by kindness, humility, sensitivity and a total regard for the other person. Our compassion is an expression of our worship as we become the hands and feet of Christ that we may draw others to him. Matthew 25: 34-40, Hebrews 13: 1-3, Luke 10:25-37

The gospel offers hope and meaning to our lives. It has the power to transform lives and culture. At Westney, we interact with those around us by living humble and obedient lives and clearly explaining the Gospel of Christ and thoughtfully and graciously defending the truths of the Bible. Matthew 28:16–20, Acts 1:8, Romans 10:14–15
We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.
Amen.
We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible, and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of his Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried, and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge both the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
We, then, following the holy Fathers, all with one consent, teach men to confess one and the same Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, the same perfect in Godhead and also perfect in manhood; truly God and truly man, of a reasonable [rational] soul and body; consubstantial [co-essential] with the Father according to the Godhead, and consubstantial with us according to the Manhood; in all things like unto us, without sin; begotten before all ages of the Father according to the Godhead, and in these latter days, for us and for our salvation, born of the Virgin Mary, the God-bearer, according to the Manhood; one and the same Christ, Son, Lord, Only begotten, to be acknowledged in two natures, inconfusedly, unchangeably, indivisibly, inseparably; the distinction of natures being by no means taken away by the unity, but rather the property of each nature being preserved, and concurring in one Person and one Subsistence, not parted or divided into two persons, but one and the same Son, and only begotten, God the Word, the Lord Jesus Christ; as the prophets from the beginning [have declared] concerning him, and the Lord Jesus Christ himself has taught us, and the Creed of the holy Fathers has handed down to us.
As a church, we have adopted the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith because we believe it brings clarity and intentionality to our shared doctrine. It is a helpful summary of biblical teaching and connects us to the historic Christian and Baptist faith. At the same time, we gladly affirm that the confession is subordinate to Scripture, open to refinement, and that Christians may differ on some points while still guarding its essential theological convictions in unity.
